| Welcome,
South Sound BMW is know as "The Gateway to Adventure" and the people below, though not the entire team, are the most influential in facilitating your motorcycling "Adventure" from a dealer's perspective. The two sales staff are very experienced riders who are devoted to connecting you with the right BMW motorcycle so your "Adventure" is exactly as you envision it. Their passion is your motorcycling pleasure.
Motorcycles, being made by mortals, require service and they sometimes break. Neil Fleming is your go to person in either event. He ensures your bike is taken care of by our BMW certified technical team. Scheduling service in the winter months is easier than in the summer. Neil suggests you allow at least two weeks advanced request in the summer to get your bike in and have it serviced or repaired.
Our Parts and Accessory staff are dediated riders with many miles to their credit so they understand what you will need for a trip to the Arctic Circle, South America, or to your "Adventure" destination. They know the right clothing to use, the right parts to bolt onto your bike that will survive the trip, and to fix your bike if you are mechanically inclined
Please feel free to contact any of these individuals for expert consultation at any time | | Alexander Guth - a native of Sindelfingen Germany and a BMW Master Level Technician. Alex is our Service Manager who speaks to BMW motorcycles as nobody else can - perhaps his German origin and ability to communicate with all things German pleases our motorcycles in that special manner they crave. Alex currently rides the most exqusite BMW; an HP2. And he rides it! Look for him in the middle of a huge NW mud puddle or an African desert. |

I'm Wayne Elston, I've been working in the BMW motorcycle world for almost 9 years and accrued several hundred thousand miles on BMW GS motorcycles. I started with Ride West in those fateful days on Greenlake - anyone remember that shop? At the time, I was hired as the Touratech Manager - that's right, Ride West used to be the importer of Touratech for the US. After we moved to the Lake City Way location, I transfered into the Sales department spending another 3 years in Seattle at Ride West before Brendan Ferrer and I came down to Tacoma, to start South Sound BMW. 5 years here already and every day is better than the last one. Rides an R1200GS

Kristina Murphy - Business Manager, Insurance Agent. Kristina is a native of the local North West and the newest member of the sales team. Call her when you have questions about your license plates, registration, or title - she knows all about this mysterious world, as well as Insurance and aftermarket warranty.
|
Neil Fleming - Service Advisor.
Neil rides the mean and nasty looking sidecar rig you see in the parking lot. Call Neil when you need to schedule a service appointment or have an interest in storing your bike for the winter. |
Peter Mietenkorte - the newest member of the parts and accessories team. Though young, he is an accomplished technician. Peter and his brother and father have 15 motorcycles registered in the family and they have a passion for restoring Honda 4 cylinder bikes.
|
Aaron Jennings - Parts Manager. "The one who knows all" about old bikes, side car rigs, and the Burning Man. Aaron has been around bikes and BMW in particular for many years. We have an ancient GS on our sales floor that testifies to his ability for the care and feeding of old BMWs. Now, Aaron knows the new bikes too. He currently rides an HP2 - altered to suit his needs - so never fear he and his team will get you exactly what you need. |
